MUBAZI

Rwanda's currency exchange rate calculator

What is MUBAZI?

MUBAZI is a free, browser-based currency exchange rate calculator built for Rwanda and East Africa. It lets individuals, businesses, and travellers quickly convert between the Rwandan Franc (RWF) and major regional and international currencies — including USD, EUR, GBP, KES, UGX, TZS, NGN, AED and ZAR.

All exchange rates on MUBAZI are sourced directly from the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), Rwanda's central bank and the official authority for foreign exchange rates. Rates are updated daily as BNR publishes them.

Our data source

MUBAZI uses the official BNR exchange rate feed at fxrates.bnr.rw. Every rate displayed — buying, selling and mid-market (average) — comes directly from this feed. We do not estimate, adjust or interpolate rates.

Rates are published on Rwandan business days. Weekends and public holidays use the most recently published rate.

Displayed rates are for informational purposes only. The rate you receive when exchanging money at a bank, bureau de change or remittance provider will differ.

  • Traders working across Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania who need daily cross-border rates

Accuracy and limitations

MUBAZI shows the BNR mid-market rate — the midpoint between buying and selling rates. This is the rate used as the official reference rate for Rwanda. It is not the rate available at any specific bank, mobile money provider or forex bureau. Always confirm the applicable rate with your provider before making a transaction.
